The Ice Climbers spin around with their hammers outstretched, hitting any opponents nearby them repeatedly. It is also possible to be frozen by Ice Shot. However due to the fact that there was only one game to base moves off of, their moves are largely improvised.įires a block of Ice, similar to the blocks pushed by Topis, at the opponent to do damage. If the following Climber gets KO'd, the lead can continue to fight (albeit with very weak resistance), but if the lead Climber gets KO'd, the follower will too. The two Ice Climbers are much weaker in their state of separation, though they will still both react to button commands. If Nana and Popo are somehow separated, the following Climber will try to reunite with the lead Climber in any way possible. Both Ice Climbers will respond to a button command, but movement inputs will only directly control the lead Ice Climber, the other following shortly after. When the Ice Climbers are selected, they both go into battle, with Nana following along behind Popo, or vice versa if alternate colors are used. The two Ice Climbers are available from the start of the game. The Ice Climbers made their first appearance in the Smash series in Super Smash Bros. To do so they have to fight through numerous enemies. The point of the game is to use Popo and Nana to get to the top of 32 different mountains and get their vegetables back from Condor - the bird who had taken them. Popo is the main character and, in two player mode, Nana can play alongside him. Something About Smash Bros WORLD OF LIGHT The Ice Climbers attempts to join Smash 4's fray and fail after Sakurai throws them off a cliff. They reappear once more in Something About Smash Bros THE SUBSPACE EMISSARY, getting beaten up by Meta Knight in a Tourney after the latter acquired back his lost Brawl SS-Tier powers. In Something About Smash Bros WORLD OF LIGHT, the Ice Climbers appear on the cliff with the rest of the fighters, but only Popo is visible. Something About Smash Bros WORLD OF LIGHT and Something About Smash Bros THE SUBSPACE EMISSARY They are seen climbing a mountain on which a Shrieking Legiana crashes into. Popo and Nana return in Something About MHW Iceborne as cameo characters. At the top, unfortunately for them, Masahiro Sakurai appears and pushes them off, leading to the duo getting trampled to death by a group of Fighting Polygons. In Something About Super Smash Bros, they appear scaling an icy mountain, in hopes of joining the roster of Super Smash Bros. The Ice Climbers do not have a major role in the series, but do have scenes or frames dedicated to them. They both had white boots in Something About Super Smash Bros. She wears a pink parka, brown boots and also tiny lines for boots. Nana, Popo's partner, is what appears to be a demon or a monster with sharp teeth and black eyes with red irises. Popo is a brown-haired human wearing a blue parka, brown gloves and black lines for boots.
